It’s official: Kentucky is going to the NCAA Tournament in Mark Pope’s first season in Lexington, the Wildcats earning a No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region.

Their path will start in Milwaukee, taking on the No. 14 seed Troy in the opening round on Friday. If the Cats win, they’ll face the winner of No. 6 Illinois and No. 11 Texas/Xavier. To get to the Elite Eight, Kentucky may face a familiar foe for a third time.

Houston is the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region, followed by Tennessee earning the No. 2 seed and Purdue earning the No. 4 seed. Other notable names in the Midwest Region include Gonzaga (No. 8 seed), Georgia (No. 9 seed), and Clemson (No. 5 seed).

Take a look at Kentucky’s potential journey to the Final Four over the next several weeks:

Here is the entire NCAA Tournament bracket:

Kentucky’s final tournament resume included 11 Quad 1 victories and zero Quad 3 or 4 losses, wrapping up the year ranked No. 9 in the KPI, No. 15 in the NET, No. 16 in KenPom, and No. 17 in T-Rank and BPI with a NET and RPI strength of schedule ranked No. 3 nationally.
