Kentucky extends 2nd offer of the day to 4-star '24 PG Tahaad Pettiford
John Calipari is putting in extra work on the recruiting trail.
Shortly after it was revealed that Kentucky had offered five-star ’24 point guard Johnuel “Boogie” Fland, another name popped up on the radar. According to Pro Insight’s Andrew Slater, the Wildcats extended a scholarship to four-star point guard Tahaad Pettiford out of Hudson Catholic (NJ) on Wednesday night. The 6-foot-0, 160-pound rising junior is considered the No. 37 overall prospect in his class, per the On3 Consensus.
Pettiford was one of the many recruits that heard from Kentucky once the contact period began on June 15. He was one of the top overall performers at the Pangos All-American Camp earlier this summer and has been shining on the AAU circuit with the New Heights Lightning (EYBL) despite playing up a year in competition. Pettiford is averaging 15.1 points, 2.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game across 13 contests for the Lightning on this year’s circuit.
In addition to Kentucky, Pettiford also holds offers from the likes of UCLA, UConn, LSU, Maryland, Auburn, and Ole Miss, among others. He told 247Sports earlier this month that he has taken unofficial visits to two schools: Seton Hall and UConn.
Kentucky has now offered seven prospects from the ’24 class, four of them considered five-stars by the On3 Consensus.
