Kentucky fan in Louisville student section describes viral Ls Down moment
Kentucky’s 38-31 upset of No. 9 Louisville was a wild ride. It was especially crazy for the Kentucky fan in the middle of the Louisville student section. The brave member of BBN was captured several times on television, commiserating the Cards’ big plays and ultimately, celebrating the Cats’ triumph. He became a meme when he threw Ls Down following one of Kentucky’s touchdowns.
Matt Jones did some sleuthing and identified the fan, whom he nicknamed “Dollar General Jack Harlow.” The fan’s real name is Ty, and he called the KSR Postgame Show to describe his fun afternoon at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium. He purchased a nosebleed ticket to the game and worked his way into the student section, three rows up from the field, smack dab in the middle of enemy territory.
“There was so much banter that was going on there and man, in the first half, I’m not gonna lie, I was getting a little nervous. It was looking a bit rough for me out there but I figured we’re a second-half team. I think we got it, we can pull it out.”
Ty said he felt the mood in the crowd shift in the fourth quarter, and when Louisville quarterback Jack Plummer threw an interception as the seconds ticked down, everything was suddenly quiet.

“They were dead silent. First half, yapping up in my ear the whole game. After that interception dead silent. Not a word. There were people behind me, telling me, Ls up, get out of here, go to the UK section. Not a word. I turned around. They weren’t even there. They went home early.”
Well done, Ty. Go Cats.
