Kentucky fans dressed up as Mark Pope and Rick Pitino for a Halloween party (and it's perfect)

Halloween is the perfect excuse for people of all ages to dress up in costumes and embrace their inner weirdness. For the Big Blue Nation, it’s the perfect excuse to show off just how insane the fanbase can be at times — and I mean that in the best way possible.
For example, remember the pictures that came out of Big Blue Madness with new Kentucky men’s basketball head coach Mark Pope wrapping his arm over the shoulder of his mentor and former Kentucky head coach, Rick Pitino? How could you forget!? Well, a pair of Kentucky fans decided to turn that moment into the best Halloween costume of 2024. Abbigale Harrison (a former KSR intern, I should add) and her friend Abigail Vicars executed it flawlessly for a Halloween party on Saturday night.
See for yourself. Good luck being able to spot the difference.

Abbi was nice enough to share some insight as to why she and her friend went with Pope and Pitino. Initially, the plan was for her and Abigail to go as Mark and his wife, Lee Anne, but with both of their significant others out of town for the weekend, they knew they wanted to take their costumes to the next level.

So Abbi, who you saw wearing the Pitino outfit, came up with the idea of dressing up as both the current and former Kentucky head coaches. The two friends cried tears of joy together during BBM and figured this was the best way to honor that experience as a new era of Kentucky basketball is ushered in.
To take it a step further, Abbi even inscribed Pitino’s Louisville national championship tattoo (using eyeliner, she clarified) on her arm to really bring the costume to life. The bar for best Kentucky-themed costume of 2024 has officially been set, folks.
