MUST WATCH: BBN packs Rupp Arena for Mark Pope's Introductory Press Conference
The scene at Rupp Arena for Mark Pope’s introductory press conference was unlike anything I’ve seen in all my years as a Kentucky fan, and if you were there or even just watching from home, I’m sure you’re saying the same thing.
Fans lined up for hours to get into the event, many making their first trip to Rupp just to welcome the captain of the Untouchables home. Rupp Arena and UK thought 5,000-8,000 fans would attend only to be proven very wrong as people streamed into the building, filling every last row, seat, step, or spot on the rail to the point that 5,000 people had to be turned away. As the minutes ticked down until the introduction (they started a little late to allow as many fans in as possible), it was a full on BBN party, with fans dancing in the stands to celebrate a new era of Kentucky Basketball with a familiar face at the helm.

Steven Peake captured the scene inside and outside of Rupp as fans waited to get in and hear from their coach. If you watched on the live stream, it’s a great inside look at the buzz in the building. If you were there, it’s a great opportunity to enjoy it again. Is it October yet?
