Kentucky Flips WR Montavin Quisenberry from West Virginia
One of the state’s best athletes will continue playing football in his Old Kentucky Home. Montavin Quisenberry announced he has committed to Kentucky.
Quisenberry, a star for Boyle County High School, previously committed to play for another Boyle County product, Neal Brown and the West Virginia Mountaineers. He made his announcement shortly after officially visiting Morgantown over the summer. Kentucky pulled off the flip after he officially visited last weekend for the Vanderbilt game.
Quisenberry has been on Vince Marrow’s radar for years. A 5-foot-9, 175-pound athlete, he’s done a little bit of everything for the most dominant high school program in the state. The Rebels have won four straight Class 4A State Titles and they’re well on their way to another in 2024 thanks to Quisenberry.
Earlier this fall, the Rebels pulled off a shocking upset against one of the best high school football programs in the country. Playing at St. Edwards (OH), Quisenberry had three rushing touchdowns and 265 yards from scrimmage. He also threw a 69-yard touchdown pass and picked off a pass in the 38-21 upset.
“He’s the best player in the state of Kentucky, and I think one of the top 100 players in the country,” Boyle County head coach Justin Haddix said after the win.

He’s a bonafide ball player, but the recruiting rankings have not been kind to Quisenberry because of his measurables. He’s not even a Top 100 WR in the country and is the ninth-ranked player from the state of Kentucky, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Quisenberry is the 20th player to join Kentucky’s Top 25 2025 recruiting class. The Wildcats now have four wide receivers committed and three players from the state of Kentucky.
He is a shifty athlete who makes people miss, but don’t let his small stature fool you. Quisenberry does not shy away from contact in traffic. Kentucky’s courtship played out slower than expected, but the Wildcats ultimately got their guy.
