Phew. Everybody breathing? On a day when it seemed nothing was going right, No. 6 Kentucky escaped Florida with a win. The Cats, who were without Adou Thiero, trailed by as many as 11 late in the first half and 8 at halftime but outscored the Gators by 10 in the second half to notch the 87-85 win, their first in SEC play.

If you missed it live, well, you’re in for a heck of a replay. Start off with UK’s highlights, the biggest of which were Aaron Bradshaw’s block and three on the other end to give Kentucky a 79-73 lead with 1:27 to play. Kentucky led the rest of the way, with Reed Sheppard hitting six crucial free throws down the stretch to propel the Cats to the win — even if he gave the Gators a chance to tie it at the very end. Thankfully, they didn’t.

There’s a lot to like — and some to dislike — in Kentucky’s performance today, but a win is a win, especially in the SEC. Go Cats.
