Kentucky Football receives votes in Week 2 AP, Coaches Polls
As expected, Kentucky did not crack the Top 25 of the AP or Coaches Polls following the 44-14 win over Ball State; however, the Cats are lurking.
Kentucky received 15 total points in the AP Poll, which ranks No. 30. The Cats got 50 total points in the Coaches Poll, which is good enough for No. 28 behind Iowa (111 points) and Pittsburgh (53 points). Those are both improvements over the preseason polls, where Kentucky ranked No. 32 in the Coaches Poll (34 points) and No. 33 in the AP Poll (14 points).
Georgia and Michigan remain No. 1 and No. 2 in the AP Poll, followed by Alabama, Florida State, and Ohio State. After big Week 1 wins, Duke and Colorado jumped into the Top 25, at Nos. 21 and 22 respectively. Following its second-half collapse vs. Florida State, LSU dropped nine spots to No. 14.
In total, six SEC teams made the Top 25: Georgia (No. 1), Alabama (No. 3), Tennessee (No. 9), LSU (No. 14), Ole Miss (No. 20), and Texas A&M (No. 23). Arkansas received 28 points, putting the Razorbacks at No. 28, two spots ahead of Kentucky.
