Led by Rich Scangarello at the podium, coaches and players from Kentucky’s offense stuck around after Tuesday’s practice to answer questions about the morning and the first week of fall ball. For all parties, it was their first time in front of the cameras since the defense won the day at Saturday’s open Fan Day practice.

Up first, Scangarello said his side of the ball rebounded with good practices Monday and Tuesday following an off-day on Sunday to reflect. “I like where we’re at and I think we’re headed in the right direction,” UK’s OC said of the bounce-back.

Also on the defense for Kentucky’s offense, Vince Marrow told KSR it was poor timing for the offense to open the doors to the public. “Man, y’all came in right when–y’all missed a couple other practices,” he said. “It’s always going to be like that and our defense is pretty good… Y’all weren’t here the day we did pretty good against them.”

Marrow also said Kentucky’s linebackers are among the best across the SEC, and it seems senior tight end Brenden Bates is getting to know those linebackers pretty well in what he called the most competitive camp he’s seen at Kentucky.

“It’s brutal,” a bloody Bates explained.
