The Kentucky football countdown is rolling along, nearly at the halfway point as we creep toward the start of the 2022 season. Next up is another member of the Big Blue Wall, No. 60 Quintin Wilson.

About Wilson

Wilson is a 6-foot-1, 300-pound redshirt senior interior offensive lineman from Cincinnati, Oh. A three-star prospect at Turpin High School, he was considered one of the ten best centers in the class of 2018. He committed to Kentucky over offers from Virginia, Boston College, Cincinnati, Minnesota and Duke.

Quintin Wilson Fun Fact

If that offer sheet wasn’t a dead giveaway, the man simply known as ‘Q’ on the Big Blue Wall is a bit of a brainiac. Thanks to a bunch of AP credits, he earned his undergraduate degree in only two-and-a-half years while consistently appearing on the Dean’s List. Like the guy who played center last year, Wilson used the extra time in class to get his MBA, which he earned in May.

2022 Forecast

Quintin Wilson has appeared in more than half of the games he’s dressed over the last three seasons. Last year he saw action in 10 of the Wildcats’ games. That number might increase this fall.

The biggest knock on former offensive line coach Eric Wolford was his lack of willingness to rotate starters in and out. Eli Cox will likely take a lion’s share of the reps at center. However, Wilson has experience at all three positions on the interior of the offensive line. When Tashawn Manning and Kenneth Horsey need to grab some air, Q can be the guy, but it’s not a given. John Young had an impressive spring and Jager Burton is built like a future All-SEC star. The competition in the trenches is stiff this summer.
