Kentucky Football Fans of the Day want Preseason Bowl Projections
College football finally kicks off this week, and to celebrate, ESPN released its first batch of bowl projections. Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach predict Kentucky will go bowling for the seventh straight season. Right now, they’re penciling the Cats in to the Citrus Bowl on January 2, which would be the program’s third trip to Orlando in five seasons.
Bonagura has Kentucky playing Wisconsin, Schlabach Penn State. Will Levis vs. his former school in his final college football game, a rematch of the epic 2019 Citrus Bowl showdown? We’ve got bigger dreams for Kentucky Football this season, but that would be fun.

Per usual, the SEC makes up half of the projected College Football Playoff teams. Bonagura and Schlabach agree that Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, and Georgia will be the top four squads, with the Crimson Tide and Buckeyes squaring off for the national championship. Both also have Texas A&M in the Sugar Bowl on Dec. 31. While we’re talking football dreams, the Cats ringing in the New Year in New Orleans is a pretty great one.
Kentucky Football’s Bowl History in the Stoops Era
Kentucky’s streak of six straight bowls is the longest in school history. The Cats have won their last four bowl games, which ties them with Texas for the longest active bowl-winning streak.
