Kentucky’s recruiting staff is getting in the mix for a couple of players just a little over a month away from the start of the Early Signing Period.
Tuesday afternoon D’Juan “DJ” Waller announced he received a scholarship from Kentucky. Targeted by Vince Marrow, Waller is a Youngstown native that attends Chaney High School. A three-star prospect, the 6-foot-3, 195-pound athlete is likely a safety at the next level. Once a Toledo commit, his stock has steadily risen in recent months. He picked up a West Virginia offer in September. After reopening his recruitment in October, Michigan’s Steve Clinkscale ponied up a scholarship offer. Youngstown has been kind to Mark Stoops’ Kentucky football program.

Kentucky also recently returned to its latest top recruiting destinations, the Nashville Metro. This week the Wildcats offered Taylor Wein, a 6-foot-5, 245-pound defensive lineman from Nolensville, TN. Since receiving the offer from Kentucky, Cincinnati has gotten involved. This weekend he will be in Norman to visit Oklahoma. Missouri, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech and USC have all extended scholarship offers in the month of November. Wein is certainly a player to keep an eye on as the Early Signing Period draws near.
There’s one other player to keep an eye on down the homestretch. JUCO running back Robert Henry announced today that he will be committing Dec. 17. Before he unveils his decision, Henry will officially visit Kentucky (Dec. 9) and South Carolina (Dec. 16). The under the radar recruit is averaging 130 yards per game at Jones College and leads the NJCAA in rushing touchdowns with 18 scores.
