Kentucky let one loss turn into two by throwing in a clunker against South Carolina. With their backs against the wall, we’ll see if the No. 22 Wildcats can respond and recapture much-needed momentum against No. 16 Mississippi State. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:39 pm EST on the SEC Network.

Many folks across the country are giving Kentucky a pass for their loss to South Carolina because they did not have their top passer. Will Levis is back in action against the Bulldogs, but he may be without his top target, Tayvion Robinson, who suffered an injury against the Gamecocks. Through six games the Wildcats have only had Levis and Chris Rodriguez on the field at the same time for 24 plays. Bringing the two together should help Rich Scangarello’s offense exceed 20 points against SEC competition for the first time this season.

It will not be easy against Mississippi State’s experienced defense. Zach Arnett’s 3-3-5 scheme has given the Wildcats fits over the last two years. The Bulldog defense held its previous two opponents under 24 points apiece, although each team deployed a backup quarterback. On the other side of the line of scrimmage, Will Rogers leads the nation in passing yards per game, but this iteration of the Air Raid also has a potent rushing attack.

The Wildcats will have their hands full Saturday night, however, they should not be over-powered or out-manned by Mississippi State. Execution errors have crippled Kentucky in consecutive losses. Mistake-free football is a recipe for success for the Cats at Kroger Field.

Get Hyped

Now is a good time to remind you the home team has won each of the last eight meetings in this series, dating back to Austin MacGinnis’ game-winning field goal back in 2016.

Kentucky vs. Mississippi State: TV, Radio and Point Spread

The Bulldogs were up to 7-point favorites until we learned Will Levis was back in action. The Wildcats are now 4-point underdogs with a total of 49. Kentucky is 6-2-1 ATS as a home dog since 2016. Only Georgia has covered as a favorite at Kroger Field during that time. The under is 5-1 ATS in six Kentucky games this year.

Kickoff is just after 7:30 pm ET. It will be an SEC Network Special with Tom Hart, Jordan Rogers and Cole Cubelic on the call. If you can’t attend the game or stream the Cats, you can always listen to the Voice of the Wildcats, Tom Leach, and Jeff Piecoro.

Aaron Bradshaw Commits, Former Wildcats return to Big Blue Madness

John Calipari injected life back into Big Blue Madness by scoring a recruiting win before the event tipped off. Five-star center Aaron Bradshaw announced his commitment to Kentucky during his official visit as fans were piling into Rupp Arena. A handful of former players were prepared to greet him and receive a standing ovation from the BBN. Antonio Reeves won the three-point shoot-out, Jacob Toppin took home the dunk contest title and Lance Ware was added to the growing injury report. Drew Franklin, Jack Pilgrim and Zack Geoghegan discussed all of the Madness on YouTube.
