GAMEDAY: No. 24 Kentucky Hosts Vanderbilt at Kroger Field
Good Morning. It’s Football time in the Bluegrass. Saturday at noon No. 24 Kentucky will host Vanderbilt at Kroger Field. Don’t Geek.
The Commodores are bringing a lot of baggage to Lexington, while likely leaving a few players at home. Vanderbilt has lost 26 straight SEC games, and they have a 6-game losing streak to Kentucky. To make matters worse for Clark Lea, the second-year head coach is unsure who will be available against the Wildcats. A flu bug is running through the Commodores’ locker room. One player who will be unavailable is AJ Swann, the injured freshman quarterback that provided a few bright spots for the team this year. Mike Wright will return to the starting role in his place.
The Commodores will be rolling out a running quarterback, but it does not matter. This game is not about Vanderbilt, it’s about Kentucky.
Unlike previous seasons, there is not an easy opponent to beat up on during the penultimate week of the season. Now is the time to get right before ending the year against No. 1 Georgia and a scrappy UofL team. The offense has not yet surpassed 37 points this fall. Despite the dreary weather, it’s a great opportunity for the Cats to score a bunch of points and leave the field feeling good about the final stretch of the 2022 season.
Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt: TV, Radio and Point Spread
