Kentucky Injury Report: Demie Sumo-Karngbaye will not play against Auburn
A new SEC policy has arrived in 2024 with weekly injury reports being published during game week. The conference now requires each of their 16 members to provide multiple “availability reports” during game week. We got the first one for Auburn vs. Kentucky on Wednesday night.
Kentucky listed 15 players on the second availability report ahead of this weekend’s game against Auburn. Players must be listed as out (0% chance to play), doubtful (25% chance to play), questionable (50% chance to play), or probable (75% chance to play). This week’s injury report includes multiple starters.
- Jayvant Brown | LB | Out
- Maxwell Hairston | DB | Out
- Jantzen Dunn | DB | Out
- Darrion Henry-Young | DL | Out
- Gerald Mincey | OL | Out
- Josaih Hayes | DL | Out
- Tavion Gadson | DL | Out
- Chip Trayanum | RB | Out
- Demie Sumo-Karngbaye | RB | Out
- Keeshawn Silver | DL | Questionable
- Quay’sheed Scott | DB | Probable
- Deone Walker | DT | Probable
- DJ Waller Jr. | DB | Probable
- D’Eryk Jackson | LB | Probable
- Tre’vonn Rybka | DL | Probable
Kentucky will be without leading rusher Demie Sumo-Karngbaye for the first time this season. The former NC State transfer was downgraded to out on Thursday. Ohio State transfer Chip Trayanum will miss another game after making his debut against Florida last week.
The Cats are dealing with some significant injuries.
It wasn’t all bad news as reserve kicker Jacob Kauwe was removed from the report and true freshman defensive back Quay’sheed Scott was upgraded to probable. The status didn’t change for the four defensive starters listed as probable and that is a good thing with practice wrapping up this week.
