Injury Update: Latest on Kenneth Horsey, Josh Kattus
Through the first three weeks of the season, Kentucky has remained close to operating with 100% of its contributors. However, some guys have been getting ‘banged up.’ That may put another offensive starter on the injury report for the Wildcats’ SEC-opener at Vanderbilt.
Tight end Josh Kattus was spotted leaving the game early Saturday night against Akron. His availability against Vanderbilt is unclear.
“We’ll see, we’ll see how it goes,” Mark Stoops said Monday. “At this point — I’ll give you an update later in the week.”
Kattus caught two passes Saturday night for 24 yards, including his first career touchdown. The second-year tight end is tough — at one practice summer he threw off his non-contact red jersey to avoid missing any time — but can he tough it out in time to play in Nashville? “We’ll see.”
Kenneth Horsey has missed the last two games after the team captain suffered an injury in week one. He still has not returned to the depth chart. When asked if there was any optimism the left guard may soon return, Stoops replied, “I’m not sure at this point.”

In this humble blogger’s opinion, it always felt like Florida was the target return date, giving him almost one entire month to recover. That’s just a guess. It’s unclear how long the Big Blue Wall will be without one of its best players.
