Kentucky Football Making Moves for 4-Star Recruits
Mark Stoops’ Kentucky football recruiting staff is picking up steam in pursuit of the most talented players in the 2024 recruiting class. Since Junior Day in January, offers have been issued and visits have been set as the Cats narrow their crosshairs.
Monday night the Cats through a lure out in the Gulf of Mexico in an attempt to catch a big fish. Kentucky offered a scholarship to Jonathan Daniels, a four-star offensive tackle from Sarasota, Fl. ranked as the No. 47 overall player in the On300. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive tackle is one of the ten best players at his position in America. Florida State, Auburn, Georgia and Florida are the big players early in his recruitment.
Meanwhile in South Georgia, a popular recruiting territory for the Wildcats, Kentucky made the cut for a rising four-star prospect. Demello Jones narrowed his list of finalists to ten. He has visited Alabama and Georgia but has not yet made it to Lexington. The four-star wide receiver spoke with Chad Simmons before pulling the trigger. KSR+ subscribers have access to all of Simmons’ insight and information on On3+.
Jacob Polacheck provides some Kentucky perspective on KSR+ for a couple of familiar four-star targets in the 2024 recruiting class. Jordan Burns, the No. 28 linebacker in the 2024 class, says he’s planning a visit to Kentucky after receiving a scholarship offer. The Atlanta native is not shy about his intentions when he takes the football field.

“My goal is to let all my anger out on you,” he told KSR+. “Even if it’s on Friday, I’ll get through a hard day of school, and I just want to release all of my anger out. I feel like I’m a more aggressive person with a chip on my shoulder.”
Closer to the Commonwealth, Indianapolis Cathedral quarterback Danny O’Neil was one of Rich Scangarello’s top targets. Now with Liam Coen running the show, Kendrick Gilbert‘s high school quarterback still thinks highly of Kentucky’s offense.
“They’re definitely still towards the top,” O’Neil told KSR+. “There’s been a little bit less communication with Coach [Liam] Coen there just because he’s still settling in with everything.”
