What a game. As the dust settles on Kentucky’s thrilling 20-17 victory over Iowa, let’s reflect on all the milestones the Cats passed on the way.

Kentucky’s bowl winning streak is tied with only Alabama

Today was Kentucky’s sixth straight bowl appearance, a record in its own right. However, with the win, the Cats have four straight bowl victories, which is tied with only Alabama among Power 5 programs. Additionally, the win over Iowa extended Kentucky’s non-conference winning streak to 16. That’s the longest active streak in the FBS.

Wan’Dale Robinson now owns two Kentucky Football records

Coming into this game, Robinson already owned the single-season receptions record but added 10 more to take the total to 104. His 170 receiving yards today pushed his total this season to 1,334. That passes Craig Yeast’s single-season record of 1,311 yards set in 1998. He had several amazing catches today, two of which kept the Cats alive in the fourth quarter.

It’s no wonder fans chanted “One more year” as Robinson left the field.

Chris Rodriguez moves up the all-time rushing list

C-Rod had 20 carries for 107 yards this afternoon. That takes his season total to 1,379, fifth-best in program history, and career total to 2,740, sixth-best in program history. Rodriguez has yet to announce whether he’ll return to Kentucky for another year; if he does, he can move even further up that list. Benny Snell’s record of 3,873 career rushing yards is only 1,134 yards away.

Stoops is within one win of tying Bear Bryant’s record

Mark Stoops is now 59-53 at Kentucky. That leaves him one win shy of tying Paul “Bear” Bryant’s win total (60-23-5). After two games of the 2016 season, Stoops’ record was 12-26 but has gone 47-27 (.635) since. He extended his school record for most total games coached at UK (112).

The Cats open the 2022 campaign against Miami on September 3 and play Florida in Gainesville on September 10. The day Stoops breaks Bear Bryant’s record will be one to remember.

And, oh yeah, Kentucky won 10 games for just the second time since 1977 and the fourth time in program history. Not too shabby.
