WATCH: Kentucky football unveils new jerseys for 2023 season
The 2023 college football season is right around the corner. We can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. When Kentucky takes the field in Week 1 against Ball State, the Wildcats will be sporting some brand-new jerseys.
On multiple social media platforms, Kentucky released a short video of what the new home jerseys will look like the season with sophomore wide receiver Dane Key doing the modeling at Kroger Field. The checkerboards are officially gone.
The alternate logo is here to stay and will appear on the shoulder replacing what used to be blue and white checkerboards. Kentucky’s helmets appear to be the same, but there is a big difference in font, and the numbers look much different both on the front and back of the jerseys. The pants include stripes down the side. These look similar to some of the old-school additions we saw back when Tim Couch was throwing the ball around the yard for head coach Hal Mumme and offensive coordinator Mike Leach.
