Kentucky checks out the new LED lights at Kroger Field
Are you ready for a light show on Labor Day Saturday? A new $7 million renovation is coming to Kentucky’s home venue that will include LED lights and new ribbon boards. Kentucky recently gave a sneak peek look at what the lights would look like. The players on the roster got a closer look this week.
Mark Stoops and his football team moved over to Kroger Field on Tuesday night for a rare night practice. The Wildcats got to see what the stadium looked like under the lights. The football program shared a photo and video on their Instagram live story on Wednesday showing off the new lights with a few players dancing to “Grove Street Party”.
Football time in the Bluegrass is almost here. We also got some sights and sounds from the stadium practice dropped on X.
In the photos, we saw some changes with the offensive line. Dylan Ray and junior college transfer Anfernee Crease were getting some reps with the ones. Tennessee transfer Gerald Mincey received some snaps at left tackle. Starters Jager Burton and Marques Cox appeared to miss Tuesday’s practice. True freshman tailback Jason Patterson also appeared to be getting some reps with the first unit following Chip Trayanum‘s hand injury.
