Kentucky football is making its rise in the national rankings.

Following the Wildcats’ 26-16 victory over the Florida Gators on Saturday night, Kentucky has been moved up to No. 10 in the latest AFCA Coaches Poll, a 10-spot jump. The ‘Cats came into the weekend ranked No. 20 by the Coaches Poll. Florida slides down from No. 19 to No. 21.

Earlier on Sunday, ESPN updated its Week 2 Power Rankings where Kentucky took another considerable leap in the standings. UK is now No. 9, according to the worldwide leader, which is a 10-spot bump from last week’s power rankings. Florida dipped from No. 11 to No. 20.

Among the programs in the Southeastern Conference, Alabama and Georgia continue to hold down the top two spots, respectively. Arkansas moved up six spots to No. 11, just one position behind the ‘Cats, while Tennessee earned a 10-spot increase from unranked to No. 16. Texas A&M saw the biggest fall among all top 25 teams, plummeting 16 spots to No. 22 after an upset loss to Appalachian State. Ole Miss (No. 17) and Florida (No. 21) round out the SEC teams.

The updated AP Poll is expected to come out at 2:00 p.m. EST. Will Kentucky enter Week 3 as a consensus top 10 team in the country?
