Kentucky football no longer receiving votes in latest AP Poll
After losing three games in a row, Kentucky has fallen out of favor in the eyes of the voters.
On Sunday afternoon, both the Associated Press and Coaches polls were updated to reflect Week 9 action in the college football world. The Wildcats were bested a day earlier by the Tennessee Volunteers 33-27 at Kroger Field in Lexington. As a result, Kentucky is no longer receiving votes in the Week 10 AP Poll and is just barely hanging on in the Coaches Poll with one point, which is good enough for 38th overall in the country.
Kentucky entered the weekend ranked 33rd (two points) in the AP Poll and 32nd (10 points) in the Coaches Poll. Meanwhile, Tennessee is now ranked 19th in the AP Poll and 16th in the Coaches Poll after beating the ‘Cats on the road.

In the Week 10 FPI, Kentucky (5-2; 2-3 SEC) rose three spots to No. 41 in spite of the loss to Tennessee. However, the Wildcats’ season-long projections took a hit. Kentucky is now projected to finish with an average win-loss record of 6.3-5.7 (down from 6.6-5.4 last week) with a 79.5 percent chance to win at least six games (down from 84.4 percent last week). The FPI gives UK a 0.8 percent chance to win out the schedule’s remaining four games.
As for the SP+ rankings, Kentucky held steady at No. 25. The Wildcats are rated as having the 40th-best offense, the 24th-best defense, and the 25th-best special teams unit in the country.
Looking ahead to next weekend’s matchup against Mississippi State (4-4; 1-4 SEC), the Bulldogs check in at No. 45 in the FPI and No. 58 in the SP+ rankings. Kickoff between UK and MSU is set for Saturday, Nov. 4 in Starkville at 7:30 p.m. EST on the SEC Network.
