Kentucky football offered two new prospects this week

Good evening, folks! Welcome back to another edition of KSR’s weekly offer roundup, where we recap the scholarships handed out by the Kentucky football staff throughout the week. While it was mostly an uneventful stretch of days, there were still a couple of intriguing high school prospects who earned offers from the ‘Cats. Let’s dive right in.
AC Walters | ’25 RB (Alabama Christian Academy)
On Tuesday, July 12, AC Walters announced on Twitter that he had earned an offer from the Kentucky Wildcats. At the time, it was just the second-ever Divison I offer for the rising sophomore out of Alabama Christian Academy down in Montgomery, AL — the first coming from Ole Miss at the end of April. Just two days after the ‘Cats came calling, Walters picked up an offer from Maryland.
Walters clocks in as a 5-foot-10, 175-pound running back with three more years of high school ball left to be played. If his current team sounds familiar, that would be because his four-star safety teammate, Avery Stuart, just committed to Kentucky from the ’23 class. The UK staff would surely like to add more pipeline schools from the talent-rich state of Alabama.
Doubling as a basketball player, Walters is a long way from hitting the college level, but three Power Five offers in the span of a couple of months before playing a down of football as a sophomore is impressive in its own right. He’ll be someone to keep a close eye on moving forward as his popularity booms.
Shaun Boykins Jr. | ’24 ATH (North Hardin)
The second offer handed out this week went to in-state product Shaun Boykins Jr., a rising junior at North Hardin High School in Radcliff, KY. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete isn’t currently ranked by any of the major recruiting services, but after picking up his first-ever Divison I offer on Friday from associate head coach Vince Marrow, he could be on his way to one with a productive and efficient fall season.

Boykins has been busy the last couple of months, taking visits to several college campuses. He started in Lexington at the beginning of June for a camp visit before taking more camp trips to the likes of Ball State, Western Kentucky, Louisville, and Marshall. Kentucky was the lone school to offer him following those camps.
During his sophomore year with North Hardin, Boykins did a little bit of everything for the Trojans, which finished the 2021 season with an overall record of 5-8. In 12 games, he caught 30 receptions for 387 yards and a team-high five touchdowns. Additionally, Boykins ran the ball four times for a total of 105 yards and one score. He even recorded one passing completion, which netted him two yards.
