11 Kentucky Wildcats make East-West Shrine Bowl 1000
The East-West Shrine Bowl is the longest-running college football all-star game, giving players a chance to showcase their talents to NFL scouts since 1925. Ahead of an exciting season, several Kentucky Wildcats are in consideration for the 98th East-West Shrine Bowl, which will take place on February 2, 2023, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Eleven Wildcats made the Shrine Bowl 1000, the watchlist of the top 1,000 prospects eligible for the 2023 NFL Draft:
- Brenden Bates, TE
- Jacquez Jones, ILB
- Will Levis, QB
- Tashawn Manning, OG
- Tayvion Robinson, WR
- Christopher Rodriguez Jr., RB
- Keidron Smith, CB
- Kavosiey Smoke, RB
- DeAndre Square, ILB
- Keaton Upshaw, TE
- Jordan Wright, OLB
Thirty-eight Kentucky players have accepted invitations to the East-West Shrine Game since 1954, nine under Mark Stoops: Darrian Miller (2014), Za’Darius Smith (2014), C.J. Johnson (2015), Derrick Baity (2018), C.J. Conrad (2018), “Bunchy” Stallings (2018), Brandin Echols (2020), Landon Young (2020), Marquan McCall (2021) and Luke Fortner (2021).
