Kentucky players to attend Chris Oats Football Camp

The Kentucky Football team is banding together once again to help Chris Oats. On July 23, over a dozen Wildcats will take part in the Chris Oats Football Skills Camp at Beechwood High School in Fort Mitchell. Oats, a Cincinnati native, will also be in attendance. The former Cat is currently in Florida rehabbing from a stroke he suffered in May 2020 that left him wheelchair-bound. A significant portion of the proceeds from the camp will go to his mounting medical bills and rehab and the Chris Oats Foundation, which supports families of young stroke victims.
Will Levis, JJ Weaver, and Oats’ close friend DeAndre Square are among the players who will appear at the camp. Here’s the full roster:
Offense
- Will Levis – Quarterback
- Destin Wade – Quarterback
- Kavosiey Smoke – Running Back
- Kobi Albert – Wide Receiver
- Tayvion Robinson – Wide Receiver
- Chris Lewis – Wide Receiver
- Chauncey Magwood – Wide Receiver
- Kenneth Horsey – Offensive Guard
- Tashawn Manning – Offensive Guard
Defense
- Chris Oats – Linebacker
- JJ Weaver – Linebacker
- DeAndre Square – Linebacker
- Jacquez Jones – Linebacker
- Keaten Wade – Linebacker
Registration is now open for the camp, which is scheduled for Saturday, July 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to all skill positions and linemen grades 1-12 (kickers excluded). The cost is $129 per camper and includes an official camp t-shirt, autographed souvenir from the players in attendance, photo op, and much more.

Chris Oats making progress in Florida
Oats is in the midst of a three-month stay at a state-of-the-art rehab facility in Florida. The former Kentucky linebacker works three hours a day, five days a week to regain his independence. His mother, Kim, has been sharing videos of his progress, which are pretty incredible. In some of them, you get a glimpse of the powerful linebacker that recorded 73 total tackles, 2.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in two seasons at Kentucky.
Even if you don’t attend the camp, you can still help Oats and his family throughout his rehabilitation journey by donating to their GoFundMe at 22OatsStrong.org.
