4 Predictions for Kentucky vs. Northern Illinois
Kentucky football week four action is underway Saturday night under the lights at Kroger Field. If you can’t make it for the beautiful night of football between the Wildcats and the Northern Illinois Huskies, let KSR tell you what will happen before it happens on the field.
Rocky Lombardi will Play
If not, then Kentucky can pitch a shutout for the second straight week. I do not have any inside information, just a hunch that if the kid is traveling, he’s not turning down an opportunity to play against a Top 10 team.
One thing to keep in mind: just because he’s healthy enough to play does not mean he will be 100% healthy. Rocky Lombardi isn’t necessarily a running QB but he does a good job of extending plays. The injury should limit his mobility ever so slightly, allowing the Wildcats’ pass rush to pin back their ears and collect a few sacks.
Kentucky will Score a Jet Sweep Touchdown
You’ve seen the jet sweep motion a lot in Rich Scangarello’s offense. Can you ever remember seeing Will Levis actually handing it off to the wide receiver? It’s only happened once or twice. Ole Miss isn’t going to bite on that fake next week if Kentucky never hands the ball off. This week is a great time to let Tayvion Robinson or Barion Brown loose for a big play on a jet sweep.

The BBN will be Unsatisfied with the Running Game
The only thing that will quench the BBN’s thirst for rushing yards is Chris Rodriguez. Even if the Kentucky offensive line cleans up its act and opens up running lanes, it still will not look the same without a dude throwing would-be tacklers to the ground. More importantly, the Big Blue Wall needs to keep Will Levis clean. If he’s throwing without facing pressure, good things happen.
300 More Yards for Levis
The Kentucky quarterback only surpassed the 300-yard threshold three times last fall. Facing a porous pass defense, he’ll exceed that mark for the third time in four games. Will Levis has taken his game to a new level. Enjoy every second of it, Big Blue Nation.
