Kentucky Football ranked No. 14 in Week 6 Coaches Poll

When you beat a top-10 team in the country at home for the first time in 35 years, you’re bound to make a leap in the national rankings. For Kentucky Football, that leap included a nine-spot bump in the Week 6 Coaches Poll.
Entering the weekend ranked No. 23 by the Coaches Poll, Kentucky (5-0) is now No. 14 in the country after taking down the Florida Gators 20-13 on Saturday night. UK is the third-highest ranked SEC team with Alabama and Georgia commanding the top two spots in the country, respectively.

Following the loss, Florida (3-2) fell from No. 9 to No. 18 in the Coaches Poll. As for the rest of the conference, Arkansas (No. 16), Ole Miss (No. 17), and Auburn (No. 19) round out the ranked programs. The previously ranked No. 13 Texas A&M Aggies was dropped from the Coaches Poll entirely after a 26-22 loss to Mississippi State.
The AP Poll will be released shortly, and Kentucky figures to earn a top-25 number next to the team name, too. The Wildcats weren’t ranked by the AP heading into the Florida game, coming in at No. 31 in the country, but expect that to change in a few hours.
