Your University of Kentucky Wildcats will start the season ranked — in the eyes of the coaches, at least. The Preseason Coaches Poll just dropped and Kentucky is No. 21. This is the first time ever that the Cats have cracked the Top 25 of the Preseason Coaches Poll. They finished last season ranked No. 15.

There are six SEC teams in the Top 25: Alabama (No. 1), Georgia (No. 3), Texas A&M (No. 7), Kentucky (No. 21), Arkansas (No. 23), and Ole Miss (No. 24). Several more received votes, including Tennessee, Mississippi State, Florida, and South Carolina, who the Cats will face this season. Louisville also got one vote.

The Preseason AP Poll will be released next Monday, August 15. The Cats haven’t made that Preseason Top 25 since 1978. Time to snap another streak?
