SEC programs are actively recruiting pair of Kentucky QB targets
The vibes have been strong for Kentucky as offensive coordinator Liam Coen is building relationships with quarterback prospects in the class of 2025. Cutter Boley and Ryan Montgomery are emerging as key targets after each has been on campus in Lexington multiple times in recent months.
However, the Wildcats have some real competition from some of their SEC peers for both blue-chip quarterbacks.
Hugh Freeze enters the chat
Tennessee has often been seen as Kentucky’s top competition for top-25 recruit Cutter Boley. The Lexington (Ky.) Christian Academy quarterback has been on campus to Lexington multiple times, but has also made many trips to Rocky Top. Notre Dame is also lurking in this recruitment as former Kentucky wide receiver and graduate assistant Gerad Parker — who is now the offensive coordinator in South Bend — issued a verbal scholarship offer to Boley last month.
Another Power Five program entered the chat on Friday.
Hugh Freeze‘s Auburn got in a quarterback battle with Kentucky back in December. The Wildcats were able to record a head-to-head win landing NC State transfer Devin Leary. This SEC West program has a lot of ground to cover in this recruitment.

Kentucky is currently the heavy favorite to land the highly ranked in-state prospect.
Georgia is seriously involved with Ryan Mongtomery
Findlay (Ohio) High quarterback Ryan Montgomery is a top-150 prospect in the class of 2025 that has had a wide open recruitment. The 6-foot-3 quarterback has taken multiple unofficial visits to Clemson, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, and Tennessee during the recruiting process.
Montgomery was back on UGA’s campus this week and new offensive coordinator Mike Bobo made a strong first impression after Todd Monken left Athens to call plays for the Baltimore Ravens. The latest visit to see Kirby Smart’s program left a big impression on Montgomery.
“Georgia is very high on the list right now. They definitely treat me like a top priority for them,” Montgomery told On3’s Jeremy Johnson. “There’s a ton of mutual interest between us. I’ve really seen all I needed to see out of Georgia. They’re at the very top of the list right now.”
Kentucky will have some stiff competition to deal with in this recruitment.
