Stoops Anticipates One More Addition, Announces Kentucky Football 2025 Early Enrollees
The hay is not yet in the barn. While most schools have wrapped up Signing Day, Kentucky is still waiting for one more official announcement.
Dejerrian “DJ” Miller has kept a low profile throughout his recruitment, which made his commitment to Kentucky an unexpected surprise. Miller was surely surprised when he learned the man who recruited him to Kentucky, WR coach Daikiel Shorts, was leaving for Nebraska. Despite the late departure,, Mark Stoops is confident they’ll get one more on the board.
“We anticipate one more coming in the next couple hours,” Stoops said on Wednesday. “If it takes longer than that, that’s fine, but I anticipate getting that done, and it’ll be a big addition to the group we already have.”
He’s not kidding about the magnitude of this addition. Don’t be fooled by the recruiting ranking. Miller turned down Tennessee and Ole Miss to commit to Kentucky. Over the last two seasons, he has just shy of 2,000 receiving yards and 31 touchdowns for the same program that produced Luther Burden and Jameson Williams. DJ Miller could be a very big deal for a Kentucky offense that desperately needs someone to catch 50-50 balls.

While we’re still waiting on Miller, we do know that half of the current 20-man class will be in Lexington this January to participate in spring practice.

It’s significant that Kentucky will have both of its quarterbacks and a pair of offensive tackles on campus in January. The Wildcats need the depth at quarterback and they need those offensive tackles as far ahead of schedule as possible.
The other big name on this list is playing in the Class 4A State Championship Game this Friday. Mark Stoops expects Martels Carter Jr. to make an impact as soon as he steps on campus.
“He’s a guy that I do believe he could play and play early,” said the Kentucky head coach. “I like his instincts, I like his demeanor, I like his athleticism. You know, he is a guy that I have on my mind that could come in and play.”
