The Kentucky football program has turned its attention to the 2026 high school recruiting class. The early months of the calendar year are spent cultivating relationships in order to secure official visits over the summer. The Wildcats appear to have laid a solid foundation with a Blue Chip defensive back.

Kentavion Anderson is a 6-foot-2 safety from Roebuck (S.C) Dorman who does not want to wait until the summer to take official visits and reach a final decision. Anderson tells On3’s Chad Simmons that he wants the hay in the barn by his birthday on May 16.

Anderson is expediting the process and that’s why he already has a list of six finalists ready to be revealed. The two instate schools, Clemson and South Carolina, are aggressively recruiting Anderson. He’s also considering Indiana, Michigan, Virginia, and Kentucky.

“We have been talking a lot during the season and how they keep in touch means a lot to me,” Anderson tells On3. “Coach Buffano then offered in January and it was a big offer in SEC. I like how they play young guys and I want to get up there for a visit.”

Anderson is a Top 25 safety in America, ranked as the No. 265 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

This guy is a ball-player and Kentucky is fishing in the right waters. Closing the deal is a different kind of challenge. Kentucky is recruiting a player from South Carolina who grew up “dreaming” of playing for Clemson. The Cats got some work to do.
