College football recruiting never truly stops, but there are times when things slow down. The beginning of the season is one of those times but October is typically where things begin to pick up steam again before things begin to get crazy in November.

Jermiel Atkins became Kentucky’s 17th high school commit in the 2025 recruiting cycle on the Fourth of July. The Wildcats needed to wait nearly three months for the program’s next commitment but that finally arrived on the first day in October when Clayton (Ohio) Northmont offensive lineman Jayden Clark joined the class.

We are now two months away from the early signing period (Dec. 4-6) and Kentucky currently sits with 18 total commitments and a class ranked No. 24 overall in On3’s 2025 team rankings. Kentucky is No. 21 overall in average star rating (88.28) just ahead of Nebraska, UCF, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Mississippi State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Arkansas, and South Carolina.

The Wildcats are looking up at a bunch of SEC programs but Mark Stoops, Vince Marrow, and the rest of the staff at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility are in great shape to sign another top-25 haul.

Kentucky still needs to close strong, but the current haul has pillars in place thanks to four top-200 recruiting wins.
