Need to Know: Kentucky Football's Spring Game
Tomorrow, fans can get their first glimpse of the 2022 Kentucky Football team at the annual Spring Game. The intrasquad scrimmage kicks off at 1 p.m. ET at Kroger Field. If you’re going or just watching from home, here’s what you need to know.
Admission, Parking are free
You don’t even need a ticket. Just come on down to Kroger Field, walk in, and sit where you like. Same goes for parking. The lots around the stadium will be first-come, first-served, no passes needed.
You can only watch it on SEC Network+ (streaming)
I hope you’ve got your streaming setup ready because the game will only be available on SEC Network+. That means you won’t be able to watch it on traditional TV; you’ll only be able to see the game on smartphones, tablets, TV-connected devices (Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, SmartTV, etc.), or via espn.com/watch. If you have SEC Network through your cable subscription, you will have access to SEC Network+. Here’s a rundown of how it works from basketball season.
You can also listen via the UK Sports Network. To save you a text or tweet to Ryan Lemond, there will not be a KSR Pre- or Postgame Show BUT KSBar is opening early if you want to stop by for some food before heading over to Kroger Field. Or, you can just watch the game from the comfort of our warm and cozy bar.

Scrimmage Format
On KSR this morning, Mark Stoops said that the format for tomorrow’s game will be a straight-up scrimmage. Unlike years past, there will be no point system or score, but Stoops and his staff believe this is the best way to show off the best football his team can play right now.
“Bottom line is we’re going to have a scrimmage,” Stoops said. “Everybody that comes to the spring game, you’re going to see good football. You’re going to see 1s vs. 1s, you’re going to see 2s vs. 2s, and you’ll see 3s vs. 3s.”
It’s a huge recruiting weekend
This is a massive recruiting weekend for the program. Around 100 prospects are expected to be on campus for the festivities, including some big names:
- Jaden Robinson (4-star LB)
- Adrian Griffin (DL – announcing soon)
- Eric Handley (QB)
- Jaden Yates (LB)
- Kamari Burns (DL)
- Kaden Moorman (ATH – UK commit)
- Amare Ferrell (High 3-star S)
- Tristan Cook (OL from Woodford County)
Zack Geoghegan will have a thorough rundown of the recruits in attendance for you later today.
Bundle up
Mother Nature isn’t playing nice. Tomorrow’s forecast features cold temps, a brisk breeze, and even rain and snow showers for those who plan to tailgate.
You know what they say; there’s no such thing as bad weather, just poor preparation. Dress warmly and fortify yourself for a fun day at Kroger Field.
