Kentucky Football "Surging" for 4-Star Edge Tyreese Fearbry
Kentucky remains in contention for Tyreese Fearbry, one of the nation’s top-ranked pass rushers. The Wildcats are making a push for the four-star prospect as his roller coaster recruitment takes a turn.
Ranked by On3 Sports as the No. 34 player in the class of 2022, Kentucky was a finalist for Fearbry when he announced his commitment to Penn State July 4. Less than a month later, he decommitted. A Pittsburgh native, many believed there would be a quick flip to Pitt. Not so fast, says On3’s Gerry Hamilton.
After the talented EDGE prospect decommitted from Penn State, he instantly became a must-get recruit for Pittsburgh. Keeping this level prospect home is difficult for the Panthers, so they simply can’t miss now with a second chance. The Panthers are up against it, however. Kentucky has been surging, and Auburn also received a June official visit.
Fearbry officially visited Kentucky in June. Recruited by Brad White, the recruiting pitch is simple: become the next Josh Allen at Kentucky. Time will tell if it’s enough to persuade the elite edge rusher to take his talents to the SEC.
