Kentucky Football target Cam Dooley commits to Missouri
Kentucky will not double-dip on Yahtzees to open the 4th of July weekend. Mark Stoops got his big fish early Saturday morning in the form of four-star linebacker Elijah Groves — No. 352 in the On3 Industry Ranking.
The Wildcats could not, however, reel in a second commitment from 6-foot-4, 200-pound athlete Cam Dooley out of Valley, Alabama.
Unranked by most major recruiting services — a three-star by Rivals, but unranked by On3, 247Sports and ESPN — Dooley instead chose Missouri over fellow finalists Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
The Wildcats were the favorite prior to his decision to move up his decision to Saturday evening, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). At the time of his commitment, though, the Tigers had a 90.9% chance to land the Valley High School standout, emerging as the clear favorite.

Where does Kentucky go from here? It won’t have to wait long for the next dice roll (and likely Yahtzee). Four-star cornerback Terhyon Nichols is set to announce his decision on Sunday, with the Wildcats also seen as the runaway favorite there — a 94.9% chance, per the On3 RPM. KSR’s Nick Roush and Adam Luckett both submitted picks for Kentucky in recent days, while 247Sports Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong submitted a Crystal Ball in favor of the Wildcats early Saturday morning.
That’ll be a chance to add a top-200 prospect in the class of 2024 — No. 188 overall and No. 26 at his position, according to On3.
Dooley won’t join the 11-man recruiting class Stoops is building in ’24, but Nichols could make it 12 on Sunday.
