Kentucky Football Teases New Uniforms in Super Bowl Commercial
The 2023 edition of the Kentucky Football Super Bowl commercial served as a nod to the past, while looking to the future. Highlights from Mark Stoops’ first 10 seasons preceded the theme for the upcoming season, “Bring on the Future.” There were a few clips of stars for next year’s team, but they were minimal, closed out by a “Go Big Blue” graphic.
This is where the folks at KyWildcatsTV deserve a tip of the cap. Like most viewers, I first saw the ad online. The video appeared to be over with the “Go Big Blue” graphic, but they slid in just a few seconds and quick cuts of what appear to be new uniforms for the 2023 season.
The Wildcats are due for new threads. The uniforms were most recently updated in 2016. The only update over the previous six seasons was a black matte helmet that debuted in the 2022 season finale, a win over the Louisville Cardinals.

In the teaser of the new Kentucky football uniforms, they appear to ditch the checkerboard sleeves, replaced by the new Wildcat logo. There also appears to be numbers added to the shoulders of the players’ uniforms. Take a closer look at a few of the frames we were able to screen grab from the commercial.
It’s about time for an upgrade. These snapshots don’t totally do the new uniforms justice. We’ll get a complete picture in due time.
