Kentucky Football Uniform vs. Missouri: Back in Black
The fine folks at the University of Kentucky made the Big Blue Nation wait a little longer to see Saturday’s threads. With just a few precious minutes until the Missouri Tigers step onto the field for warm-ups, we now know why Kentucky waited until now to reveal this week’s uniform combination.
The Wildcats are back in black. For the first time in a long time, the Kentucky football team is rocking black uniforms at Kroger Field. They’ll wear the chrome domes with the black jerseys and pants.
Kentucky rolled out all-black uniforms for various special occasions throughout the early years of the Mark Stoops era. Those threads were ditched for the anthracite, off-gray uniforms that serves as a salute to coal miners across the Commonwealth. Our best guess is that Kentucky last wore black uniforms in 2016. The Wildcats are 1-3 in black uniforms in the Mark Stoops era. The one win was the improbable comeback against South Carolina that was capped off by Bud Dupree’s pick six.

The only thing this hype video is missing is a couple of punter highlights. I’m not just talking about Colin Goodfellow. Remember Max Duffy‘s long run back in 2019? People can’t forget that.
