Good evening, folks! And welcome to our weekly Kentucky Football offer roundup, where we dive into the high school recruits that the Wildcats recently extended scholarships to. With the camp season coming to a close earlier this week on Wednesday, this might be the last stretch where we see a big bundle of offers handed out. The quiet period began at the beginning of the month and continues through June 26, meaning college coaches can only talk with recruits during on-campus visits during that time.

With that in mind, the Kentucky staff made sure to bring in plenty of intriguing talents to Lexington for the final few days of camp. By my count, a dozen offers have been gifted to various prospects over the last seven days. But before we dive into who they are, let’s quickly talk about non-Kentucky offers that hold some significance.

Boley and Smith twins earn notable offers

Cutter Boley might be Kentucky’s top ’25 quarterback target. The 6-foot-5 gunslinger received his offer from the ‘Cats back in Dec. 2021 and has continued to build a steady relationship with the staff, including new offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello. Boley recently transferred to nearby Lexington Christian Academy after beginning his high school career at LaRue County. He was on campus earlier this month for an unofficial visit. In addition to the ‘Cats, Boley also holds offers from the likes of West Virginia, Kansas, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Missouri, and Virginia Tech.

On Thursday, Boley hauled in an offer from Michigan, with one of the coaches recruiting him being former UK defensive back coach Steve Clinkscale, who is now in the same role with the Wolverines. Boley was already establishing himself as a top-tier quarterback moving forward, but an offer from Michigan should help put into perspective the potential he holds. Kentucky will be all over him the next few years.

Two more high-level Kentucky targets picked up significant offers earlier this week, too. Twin brothers, Jerod and Jacob Smith from the ’24 class, both received offers from South Carolina on Tuesday, June 14. The former Somerset, KY stars now play for The Loomis Chaffee School (CT) but hold plenty of ties to the Wildcat program. Jerod is considered a four-star defensive lineman while Jacob is considered a four-star EDGE rusher.

Over the last few years, South Carolina offers haven’t been detrimental when it comes to prospects high on UK’s Big Board (and these two have been near the top of the ’24 wish list for a while now), but this one could hold some weight. The Smith brothers are current teammates at Loomis Chaffee with four-star ’24 QB Dante Reno, who has been trending heavily towards the Gamecocks over the last few weeks. An offer from South Carolina might not change their recruitments right now, but if Reno ultimately commits there, I wouldn’t be shocked if the Gamecocks become a legit contender.

All right, now that we’ve covered the non-Kentucky offers, let’s dive into what the Wildcat coaching staff has been up to this week.

Class of 2023

Ty Perkins: 6-3, 175-pound WR | Ironton (Lucasville, OH) Cincinnati commit
3-star, No. 845 overall; No. 122 WR

Just six days after he announced his commitment to the Cincinnati Bearcats, Ty Perkins posted to his social media on Monday that he had earned an offer from Kentucky associate head coach Vince Marrow. Perkins, who plays at a program the UK staff is very familiar with, Ironton High School, was being lightly recruited by the ‘Cats since the spring, even taking a visit to Lexington. UC scooped him up though, adding to their top five ranked ’23 recruiting class, but Kentucky appears to believe there is a chance for a flip.

Jakob Dixon: 6-4, 190-pound WR | Pleasure Ridge Park (Louisville, OH)

A local prospect, Jakob Dixon was in Lexington for multiple camps over the last week. It ultimately ended with him leaving campus holding an offer from the ‘Cats, which also came from Marrow. Dixon’s only other two Divison I offers are courtesy of Eastern Kentucky and Eastern Illinois, but the UK staff clearly sees something they like in him. He ran a 4.5-second 40-yard dash while at camp and could be switched into a tight end role at the next level.

Branden Palmer: 6-4, 205-pound EDGE | Williams Amos Hough (Cornelius, NC)

Following a camp visit to Kentucky earlier this week, Branden Palmer announced an offer from the ‘Cats that came via defensive coordinator Brad White on Tuesday. This is just the third Power 5 offer for Palmer, who is also being recruited by Maryland and West Virginia. This spring, he’s been hauling in offers from the likes of Kent State, Miami (OH), Holy Cross, and James Madison.

Class of 2024

Aneyas Williams: 5-10, 195-pound ATH | Hannibal (Hannibal, MO)
3-star, No. 342 overall; No. 27 ATH

The name Aneyas Williams is one you’ll be hearing plenty over the coming years, even if he’s not linked to Kentucky. Already considered a top-400 prospect, the Missouri-based athlete has exploded during the month of June. He received an offer from Florida on Wednesday and one from UK defensive backs coach Chris Collins on Monday. In the two weeks prior to that, Williams has earned offers from Tennessee, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Alabama.

D’Shawntae Jones: 5-10, 205-pound RB | Glenville (Cleveland, OH)

2022 has proven to be a bit of a breakout year for D’Shawntae Jones, who received his first Divison I offer on Sunday, which came from Kentucky. He had previously earned offers this year from Syracuse (May) and Marshall (January) while also taking visits to Michigan and Penn State.

Terence Marshall: 6-2, 175-pound WR | Navarre (Navarre, FL)

Following an impressive camp outing earlier in the week, Terence Marshall received his Kentucky offer from defensive line coach Anwar Stewart and wide receivers coach Scott Woodward on Monday. It was his second SEC offer in a matter of days as Arkansas reached out with a scholarship on June 9. His very first Division I offer came from the in-state Florida State Seminoles back in March, a program he referred to as his “dream school”. He’s not currently ranked by any of the major recruiting services, but after a big spring of camps, expect that to change.

Chris Gant Jr.: 5-11, 190-pound S | Klein Collins (Spring, TX)

Not long after he camped at Kentucky on Tuesday, Chris Gant picked up an offer from UK on the same day from Coach Marrow, his first from an SEC program. He also camped at Vanderbilt and Louisville this month but did not earn offers from either. Gant’s only other Divison I offer as of right now is from Alabama State.

Class of 2025

Marquise Davis: 6-0, 190-pound LB | Glenville (Cleveland, OH)

The second of two Glenville (OH) products to earn a Kentucky offer this week was Marquise Davis, who received his scholarship from Coach Marrow. His offer sheet also includes Minnesota, Pittsburgh, UMass, and Iowa State, along with the ‘Cats. Davis also camped at Alabama and Ohio State during the month of June.

Amir Leonard-Jean Charles: 6-3, 270-pound IOL | Lipscomb Academy (Mount Juliet, TN)

Kentucky assistants Coach Stewart and Coach Woodward were the ones who extended an offer to Amir Leonard-Jean Charles on Sunday, who also holds a scholarship from Ole Miss. The Rebels offered him all the way back in Sept. 2021. Leonard-Jean Charles will camp at Vanderbilt this weekend where another offer could come through. He projects to be one of the top overall linemen out of Tennessee from the ’25 class.

Class of 2026

David Pellman: 6-3, 285-pound IOL | Ballard (Louisville, KY)

The second of two Louisville-based prospects to earn an offer this week from Kentucky was David Pellman, which came from Coach Marrow on Monday. Pellman trains at Aspirations Gym, which has been a pipeline of sorts for UK football over the years. He’s just a rising high school freshman, so there is still plenty of room for development, but “Pancake Pellman” will be a recruit to keep an eye on.

Robert Lathon Jr.: 5-10, 170-pound RB | Bishop Hartley (Columbus, OH)

Kentucky is the first school to extend a Divison I offer to Robert Lathon Jr., which he received on Tuesday.
