We won’t get Kentucky Football’s entire 2024 schedule until tonight, but Peter Burns just shared a nice teaser on social media. According to Burns, every SEC team will play either Texas or Oklahoma once in the 2024 season. Next year, of course, is the Longhorns and Sooners’ first in the league. So, your University of Kentucky Wildcats will either host Texas or Oklahoma next year or travel to Austin or Norman. Pretty fun, right?

Playing the Longhorns, with Arch Manning at quarterback, in Austin is obviously appealing, but if I had to guess, I’d say the league will pair Kentucky with Oklahoma for the Stoops angle. As you know, Mark’s older brother Bob was the head coach of the Sooners from 1999-2016 and on an interim basis in 2021. Who else will be on Kentucky’s 2024 schedule? The Cats have four non-conference games already on the slate, at Akron (Aug. 31), Ohio (Sept. 21), Murray State (Nov. 16), and Louisville (Nov. 30).

At the SEC Spring Meetings, the league voted to stay at eight games for the 2024 season but eliminate divisions. In the 1-7-7 model (one permanent opponent, seven rotating), South Carolina is Kentucky’s annual foe. We now know the schedule will include either Texas or Oklahoma, which leaves six more games. Texas A&M has yet to travel to Kroger Field since joining the SEC, so that’s a possibility.

From there, it’s just guessing until the schedule reveal tonight at 7 p.m. ET on the SEC Network. Adam Luckett has some theories, which I encourage you to check out.
