Luke Fortner, Josh Allen stop by Kentucky's Gator Bowl practice
Kentucky’s first practice in Jacksonville is in the books, and, not surprisingly, some special visitors dropped by. Former Cats Luke Fortner and Josh Allen, who play for the Jacksonville Jaguars, made the short trek over to the practice fields at the University of North Florida to say hello.
Allen brought one of his sons to practice with him. Think Stoops worked in a recruiting pitch when he bent down to say hello?
Jacksonville is 8-7 on the season, which is still good enough for first in the AFC South when you factor in tiebreakers. Yesterday, the Jags lost at Tampa Bay, with quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffering a sprained right AC joint. His status for Sunday’s game vs. the Carolina Panthers remains uncertain. If you’re headed to Jacksonville for the bowl game, that could be a fun long weekend if you want to tack on a few more days.

As for Kentucky, from here, the Cats will tour the Mayport Naval Station, the third-largest Fleet Concentration Area in the United States. They’ll also pack backpacks for Blessings in a Backpack, a non-profit organization that feeds school children across the country. Also on the agenda this week: a night at Top Golf tomorrow, press conferences on Thursday morning, and a pep rally on Thursday night.
Adam Luckett is currently en route to Jacksonville and will have updates from practice tomorrow. Nick Roush and Steven Peake will join him tomorrow night. I’ll let this footage from Keith Farmer of Kentucky’s wide receivers putting in work serve as an appetizer for what’s to come.
