We will not have to wait long to see the Brock Vandagriff Bowl in 2024. The SEC will not officially release the conference scheduled for next year until next week, but the leaks have already started. It’s now time to start planning fall weddings.

Kirby Smart will bring his team to Lexington in Week 3 for a Sept. 14 showdown at Kroger Field. The Wildcats are now slated to get an early game against Georgia. This would be the first time this series would be played in September since 1942.

The Bulldogs will open with Clemson in Atlanta and then host Tennessee Tech in Week 2 before the SEC opener in Week 3 in Lexington. UGA’s schedule is highlighted by a rare road trip to Alabama (Sept. 28) and another tough road game against Texas (Oct. 19).

Kentucky’s new QB1 will get a swing at his old team early in the season.

What we know about Kentucky’s 2024 schedule

According to FBSchedules.com, Kentucky has all four non-conference dates locked in for the 2024 season. The Wildcats will open the season in Week 1 with a home game against Southern Miss (Aug. 31), will host Ohio in Week 4 (Sept. 21). Then Mark Stoops‘ team will have a long stretch of home games before hosting Murray State (Nov. 16) late in the season. The season then ends with a home game versus Louisville (No. 30). Due to how the calendar falls with Labor Day weekend and Thanksgiving this year, there will be two bye dates on the 2024 slate.

We now know that Kentucky will host Georgia in Week 3. Due to process of elimination, it appears that Kentucky will host South Carolina in Week 2 thanks to everyone else on Kentucky’s schedule having a conference game or non-conference game scheduled for that date. The Wildcats will play two SEC home games in September.

Many in the Big Blue Nation are still wondering when UK’s first road trip to Austin will be. That figures to draw a big road crowd as many have shared interest in traveling to Texas to see the Wildcats and Longhorns battle on the gridiron. Unfortunately, we will have to play the waiting game just a little big longer.

The SEC Network will host a live schedule event next Wednesday. Stay tuned to KSR for full coverage. The countdown to 2024 starts very soon.
