BOX SCORE: Kentucky hammers Georgia State with two-point shooting
Kentucky is quickly making a case for the best offense in college basketball. The Wildcats are now averaging 96.7 points per game and are up to No. 11 overall in KenPom’s adjust offensive efficiency rankings. The Wildcats rank inside the top 20 in adjusted tempo, effective field goal percentage, and turnover percentage.
Three-point volume is playing a big role with 43.5 percent all of shot attempts coming from behind the arc, but the efficiency inside the three-point line is what is making Kentucky dangerous and hard to guard on offense.
That was on full display in Kentucky’s 105-76 win over Georgia State on Friday night at Rupp Arena. The Cats poured in only 7-of-26 (26.9%) shots from three-point range, but that did not stop them from reaching triple-digits for the fourth time this season. Kentucky posted 1.38 points per possession, and hammered the Sun Belt foe from two-point range.
Kentucky finished the game shooting 33-of-41 (80.5%) from two-point range with 62 paint points and 22-of-24 shooting on dunks and lay-ups. The perimeter shooting brings gravity to the floor and opens up the interior of the defense. That led to a lot of shots in the paint.

The Wildcats are hard to guard.
