Kentucky WBB gets commitment from Liberty guard Asia Boone

Let Kenny Brooks cook, folks. He’s just secured another transfer portal commitment, and like Josie Gilvin, she’s a standout guard from Conference USA.
A source told KSR that Kentucky got a commitment from Liberty transfer Asia Boone, the 2024 CUSA Freshman of the Year. KSR also learned that Boone took an official visit to UK recently as well.
It wasn’t too long ago when Brooks and the staff made contact with the 5-foot-8 guard, but the staff locked up a commitment in no time.
She averaged 10.2 points per game as a sophomore, making 36.9% of her shots from three-point range. During the CUSA Tournament, Boone tallied 11.3 points, 2.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game while shooting 6-14 (42.9%) from deep.

Boone played just five minutes against Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament before going down with a foot injury. However, that shouldn’t have any affect on next season. She’ll be a nice depth piece to help make up for some of the production that the Cats lost this offseason.
