Kentucky got its ass kicked but at least it earned UNISWAG’s sixth-best uniforms of the week

Kentucky wanted to end the season on a high note and it did just that. Entering dark mode paid off in the form of the ultimate accolade, something that can never be taken away from this 2024 group that experienced one singular high — shoutout Oxford — to go with the lowest of lows.

No, the Wildcats didn’t beat Louisville — or even show up, for that matter. The six-game winning streak is over and the rivalry bragging rights are gone, but why should we care? Kentucky physically looked better than not only the competition inside Kroger Field, but everyone in college football.

Well, everyone but five teams in college football. The boys from Lexington were the sixth-best-looking bunch of the week, according to the fine folks at UNISWAG.

In the long-awaited UNISWAG Week 14 Uniform of the Week Countdown, Kentucky came in at No. 6 behind only North Carolina (No. 1), Oregon (No. 2), LSU (No. 3), Mississippi State (No. 4) and Liberty (No. 5). The Wildcats may have finished second-to-last in the SEC with a 1-7 conference record on the year, but the good news is that they were third in the league this week in terms of sick uniform combinations.

In all seriousness, the uniforms were pretty slick. The matte black helmets with new Wildcat logo and black jerseys, pants and cleats popped with the blue trim and lettering. Kentucky undoubtedly looked the part as they ran out of the tunnel and proceeded to get their asses handed to them in the in-state rivalry matchup to close out the season, losing 41-14 with the game out of reach essentially from the opening kick.

It was the first all-black combination of the year for the Cats with UK first debuting the matte black helmets vs. UofL in 2022 — a 26-13 win for the good guys. Overall, though, Kentucky moves to 1-5 wearing all-black uniforms under Mark Stoops.

What an honor.
