Kentucky Governor closes all restaurants and bars for dine-in service

As expected, Governor Andy Beshear just announced that beginning at 5 p.m. today, all restaurants and bars in Kentucky will close for dine-in service. Only takeout and delivery will be available.
“I’m going to put out the order today to close all restaurant and bars to in-person traffic,” Governor Beshear said. “We are going to have exceptions in there for drive-through, for delivery, but we are to the point now where this is a step we have to take.”
“We are going to do everything we can to help with the financial impact. It’s not lost on me that most of these are small businesses and there are those that are watching who have spent your sweat equity and maybe even your life savings to open that small business. We’re going to do everything we can to be there for you. I want you to know that I realize the impact it’s going to have but we have to take the steps to make sure we are protecting our people and this is a necessary one.”
Governor Beshear said his family has pledged to order takeout or delivery at least three times a week to continue to support local businesses.

“As part of our duty, we need folks that are out there to be ordering takeout now, to be ordering delivery. My family is going to commit to do it for at least three meals a week. There are four of us. We need everybody else to do that too. These are important businesses. They employ people throughout our community.”
ICYMI, yesterday, we closed KSBar and Grille for dine-in service. Beginning at 11 a.m. KSBar’s new to-go menu will be available, including some really great deals on family platters. Our hope is you will still consider KSBar for an occasional meal or two so our employees are still able to go to work everyday, even when we can’t fill the place inside.
