Kentucky has reached out to Reed Sheppard
The Wildcats are in contact with the state’s most talked about high school basketball player.
Shortly after finishing a summer league game at Collins High School in Shelbyville, Ky., Reed Sheppard informed KSR’s Jack Pilgrim that he has been in touch with Orlando Antigua. The UK assistant coach reached out not long after the contact period began on Tuesday.
Sheppard is the son of two former standout Wildcats, including 1998 Final Four MOP, Jeff Sheppard. A star for North Laurel High School, as a sophomore Sheppard led the state in scoring with 843 points (30.1 ppg). This week he made his debut in the Rivals150 as the top-ranked player in Kentucky and the No. 39 player in the 2023 recruiting class.
Pilgrim and Zack Geoghegan will have more from Sheppard and other local college hoops prospects throughout the weekend.
