What a fun day. Not only did Kentucky get to honor Tubby Smith, the Cats were absolutely dominant for the fourth game in a row. While we wait for John Calipari and the players’ comments, let’s study the numbers from the 92-48 win over High Point. Here are a few that stand out to me:

  • Obviously, Kellan Grady had quite a day. Grady made SEVEN threes, tying a career high from his time at Davidson. He also had a big dunk right before halftime. He finished with a team-high 23 points.
  • TyTy Washington and Oscar Tshiebwe finished with 15 points each. Amazingly, Oscar only had eight rebounds, breaking his streak of double doubles.
  • NINE assists for TyTy and seven for Sahvir Wheeler. Calipari wants Kentucky to have 18+ assists per game. Today, the Cats had 23.
  • Perhaps most importantly, 8+ minutes for Jacob Toppin, Davion Mintz, Lance Ware, Daimion Collins, Bryce Hopkins, and Dontaie Allen. Quality playing time before the Cats jump back into the SEC schedule.
  • Dontaie Allen played over ten minutes and was 0-5 from the floor, 0-4 from three-point range. He had two rebounds.
