Final Kentucky High School Football Rankings of the Regular Season

Boyle County moves up two spots after easily getting by Frederick Douglass. This week, I ranked 26 teams instead of the usual 25 because Glasgow and Bardstown are so close and both deserve recognition. 

Kentucky High School Football Top 26

1. Male – Daniel Swinney rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns in a 23-0 win over rival Manual.

2. Lexington Christian Academy – The Eagles shut out Henry Clay 56-0. Drew Nieves threw for 256 yards and four touchdowns and ran for two more.

3. St. Xavier – Mekhi Smith returned a punt 57 yards for a score and Jackson Poma had a pick-six to help the Tigers blank Bowling Green 27-0

4. Corbin – Seth Huff rushed for multiple scores in a 40-10 victory over 6A Campbell County 

5. Boyle County – Jagger Gillis ran for two scores and tossed two touchdown passes to Cole Lanter in an impressive 34-7 win at then No. 4 Frederick Douglass.

6. South Warren – WKU commit Caden Veltkamp passed for 317 yards and three touchdowns, including two to Arvin Bell, in a 41-3 victory over Logan County.

7. Johnson Central – Zack McCoart rushed for 196 yards and three scores and Matt Crum rushed for three scores in a 48-22 win over rival Belfry.

8. Beechwood – Reigning Mr. Football Cam Hergott rushed for 226 yards and five touchdowns and passed for another score in a 70-7 route over Newport Central Catholic.

9. Woodford County – Preston Stacy ran for three touchdowns to help the Jackets cap off a perfect regular season with a 50-13 win over Simon Kenton.

10. Frederick Douglass – Samuel Cornett threw for 140 yards and a score and Obadiah Commodore had 10 tackles in a 34-7 loss to Boyle County.

16. Daviess County – Quarterback Joe Humphreys, a Mr. Football favorite, had six touchdowns in a 58-14 win over Warren East.
