Gameday atmospheres are excellent opportunities to host high-level recruits, especially when the opponent is a nationally-ranked team. A top-ranked class of 2026 recruit will experience that environment firsthand when No. 1 Georgia comes to Lexington in a few weeks.
First reported by On3’s Steve Wiltfong, four-star offensive tackle Adam Guthrie has scheduled a visit to Kentucky for Saturday, Sept. 14 when the Bulldogs take Kroger Field under the lights on ABC for the 7:30 p.m. EST kickoff. A 6-foot-7, 280-pound junior at Ohio’s Miami Trace High School, Guthrie is rated as the No. 227 overall 2026 prospect by the On3 Industry Ranking.
Kentucky isn’t the only gameday stop for Guthrie this fall either. According to Wiltfong, he’ll also visit the likes of Louisville, Ohio State, West Virginia, Texas, Penn State, Missouri, and Southern California throughout the 2024 season.
This won’t be the first trip to UK for Guthrie either, as he also made a gameday visit last season for the Wildcats’ loss against Tennessee. Now up to over 30 Division I offers, Kentucky was actually the fourth school to reach out with a scholarship and the first from an SEC program.

Associate head coach Vince Marrow extended a Kentucky offer in Oct. 2023 and has been Guthrie’s lead recruiter ever since. Offensive line coach Eric Wolford is also involved. Wolford recruited Guthrie while coaching at Alabama and that relationship has continued since his return to Kentucky this past offseason.
Guthrie and Miami Trace opened their 2024 season last week in a close 28-23 loss to Waverly. He suited up on both the offensive and defensive line in the defeat, helping his team total over 400 yards of offense while also recording a tackle for loss and a couple of quarterback hurries on defense. Guthrie primarily lined up at left tackle on the offensive line.
Miami Trace (0-1) will return to action this Friday for a road matchup against Wilmington.
