Kentucky in Georgia transfer Sahvir Wheeler's final four

Kentucky is still in the running for Sahvir Wheeler. The former Georgia point guard just uploaded a video to Instagram about his final four schools, Kentucky, Kansas, LSU, and Oklahoma State.

The video is almost ten minutes long and features him and his father discussing the pros and cons of each destination while watching film. When UK’s logo comes across the screen, Wheeler calls Kentucky, “the highest level, the highest stage.” His father agrees, and raves about John Calipari.

“One, I think he can pull something out, he can coach you to a level, hold you accountable because of his respect level, what you’re going to get because you know he’s coached that many pros and point guards. I think he’s got some insight for you and all that. I think he’s going to give you the freedom in the midst of the system to figure it out. I think there’s a benefit to that. I think there’s a value to having that level of accountability. I think he’ll adjust according to his personnel. That’s why you’re a Hall of Famer.”

“I like it,” his dad continued. “I like it. It’s hard not to like. And I trust the dudes on that staff. There is some familiarity. And everybody, it’s going to be the Super Bowl every time you play. It’s going to be a movie every time you go out there. That’s where you typically excel, when the stakes are high, there’s bright lights, there’s cameras, there’s action. You know what I’m saying? It’s like the Spike Lee section is full. I think you show up in that.”

“I think you would have massive success there,” his father concluded.

Wheeler was tabbed as an SEC All-Second Team member this past season after putting up 14 points and 7.4 assists (best in the conference) in nearly 35 minutes per outing. He put his name in the transfer portal back on April 20 and is also testing the NBA Draft waters. Jack Pilgrim spoke with Wheeler back on April 28 about his decision.

“Hopefully next year, when I choose a destination that I feel comfortable with as the right situation, I’m going to prove that some more on a bigger stage and on a higher level. Hopefully that can catapult me to the next level, get in the NBA conversation,” Wheeler told KSR. “… Big stage, being able to contend for a national championship, Final Four, playing style, playing fit, all those things are factors I’ll consider when making my decision.”

Even if TyTy Washington comes on board, Wheeler is still interested in joining Kentucky’s roster, he told Adam Zagoria.

"I'm fine if I go there and TyTy goes there as well, that's fine. I don't think his decision will impact me too much."

Wheeler also told Zagoria he anticipates making his decision before June 1. Bring it on.
